Ebay Listing pulled but why?

Hi,
Can anyone shed any light on this please??

I listed a pair of girls trousers (from a well known store) and the listing has been pulled, reason they have given me is 'keyword spamming' they have taken offence to the words 'AS NEW' in the title of the listing:

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know what part of your listing is not permitted.

Your listing(s) contains the following information:

As NEW

Keyword spamming is not permitted on eBay. Keyword spamming is using brand names or other inappropriate keywords in an item title or description for the purpose of gaining attention or diverting buyers to a listing.

Why have they done that and have I lost my insertion fee?

Thanks.

Its for exactly that reason, you can't describe an item as "AS NEW", as it comes up when people search for "NEW" items.

As for the fee, if it is the first time it has happened with this listing, you should be able to relist for free, but someone else might be able to confirm this?

This happened to me once before, it's a little frustrating but I just changed the wording to say VGC or worn once which they seemed to allow. In the actual listing you elaborate more anyway so as long as the title sums up what you're selling that should be enough to entice the reader to read a little more.

I hadn't sold anything on ebay for a while and I got my last listing pulled for stating "as new". It used to be an accurate way to describe something that was as new! I didn't know anything about the change.

I re-listed it as "mint" and that was fine.

  • I put 'like new' in the title of a listing the other day but when I got to the second page where you submit the listing, loads of red writing came up saying it was keyword spamming and I had to go back and change it
