Natwest -Direct Debit on my credit card + Card Activation Secuty

I went to a Natwest Branch today and I wonted to set up a direct debit from my current account so that it automaticaly repays my full balance on my credit card (Natwest gold cc).
I have been told that this is not possible to do at the branch and i have to call the thredit company (the phone number at the back of my card) and order a form from them and go back to a natwest brach to have this set up.
Is this how it works. The credit company is natwest itself so why will they not do this at a branch.
Also when I have received my card I had to activate it. to do this I have called the number in the letter and they ask me all the sensitive questions. Like, what are my 16 number on the card. the 3 numbers at the back and my security passworld.
Is this what they do ? I am very scared that they guy who talked to me could use this information.

Ring natwest credit card centre. They can set your dd up over the phone for you.
You will always be asked if you call the call centre your password/mothers maiden name & sometimes your CVV number on the back of the card.
They will never ask you for pin numbers or anything though.

Gets better.
Natwest also force you to use the "Secure" thing on websites when you buy anything. I have never had an account with any company so obsessive about "protecting my money"!!!!!!
(All this just with their basic Step account and a Solo card!)0 -
charlotte, isn't it better that your money is so well protected from fraud though?
If the shoe was on the other foot, you'd soon come of here complaining if there had been fraudulent transactions on your card!!!!

No I wouldn't. Been there and very protected by the Banking Code.0

Charlotte....... Barclaycard have that extra security when buying online as well.
Hellows..... Natwest bank and Natwest CC are not 100% linked together hence the run around. However you can set it up over the phone, no need for paperwork.0
