IC Breakdown from Insurance Choice. (car breakdown cover)

Hi,

I hope I have the right board for this.

Have done a comparison on moneysupermarket.com and IC Breakdown from Insurance Choice have came out cheapest for the level of cover i need/want.

Just wondering if any one has any experience (good or bad) in dealing with them?

Thanks.

I have been a member of IC breakdown for 2 years - now. Just 2 weeks ago, I had to use them for a breakdown on the A34. Out within 40 minutes and I was back on the road in under an hour. They use local garages - and on both occasions, I was offered the option of recovery to wherever I wanted.
I pay £49 a year for the top cover (excluding lost keys and European recovery). That's Home Start, Roadside Assistance and Nationwide Recovery to a destination of my choice.
Excellent service - and excellent price. They do everything that the AA and RAC do - for about 1/3 of the price!!

    Does it cover oward travel?
so If you were for example on the way to the airport, would it provide you with bust/train/taxi/hire car to get there?

I have autoaid cover which is £36 and includes the above PLUS onward travel.
It is "pan and claim" though, so you have to pay up front and claim back.
  • i just done moneysupermarket and europ assist has come out cheapest for top level of cover at £39.95 with onward travel. I would like to take a policy out asap because my car has broken down and i cant get it home

Any one know of a company when you havent got to wait 14 days to make a claim ( a bit cheeky i know but really stuck without car)
    :T started comping 2009:T
  • I have had excellent service from IC and would encourage anyone to join them for breakdown cover. I have had the misfortune to break down both in the UK and in France and had to have my vehicle repatriated to the UK and it didn't cost me a penny. IC organised a hotel, trains to paris airport, flights home and taxis from the airport to my front door and my vehicle arrived several weeks later because due to its size, it required a large container. I am still using IC breakdown and would not swap companies now.

    Hope this helps.;)

I had a car accident in November 2010 and they turned up within the hour got me and the car home safe and sound.

I only paid £69 for the year and best thing was unlike the RAC and AA they do not do that customer service (trick) of automatic renewal.
