Sainsbury's Credit Card

in Credit cards
Hello everyone, I am new here so Hiii!
I have a bit of a problem with Sainsbury's Credit Card, I got one of their cards back in 2003 and have since paid it off and closed the account. But every year I get a statement for £20.00 "Payment Protection" which drives me crazy. When I call Sainsbury's they say its nothing to do with them and the payment request comes from CCP Holdings Limited. I spoke to them last year and they told me I had to pay but that they would also cancel the subscription from then so I would not hear from them again. But yesterday I got another statement from them, they say its too late to refund me (despite me only getting the bill yesterday) and that I need to write to their refunds dept if i want the money taken off the card (which I don't even have any more! they re open the account just for this!). I have written to CCP but I was just wondering if anyone knew, if I don't pay the £20.00 will it affect my credit rating and cause problems in the future? I am hoping they remove it but how long it takes is anyones guess.
Thanks in advance guys

Welcome!
Yes, if you don't pay to CC company this will damage your credit history.
You have a Continuous Payment Authority on your card and you cannot cancel it as Direct Debit, for example. I think your only choice is to pay to CC company and sort things out with CCP Holdings Limited.
