raising cash for charity?

A friend of mine needs to raise money for a well known charity. It involves her having to partake in some activity abroad, she needs to raise about £1,800. Any ideas or thoughts greatly appreciated. Regards omnipeta.

Hi, sorry if I have not made myself clear. My friend has already been accepted by 'SCOPE' and is doing a horse ride to raise cash for the charity. Just wondering what she could do to generate funds to reach her target of £1,800? thanks for your attention.

It has been suggested here that things like quiz nights at pubs or sponsorhip or something if that is possible but the best is just giving.
  • I am doing a charity trek in Peru in May to raise money for The NAtional Autistic Society. I have paid for myself to go which makes my fundraising easier as i havent got to raise a minimum amount, also I feel less guilty as all the money I raise will go to charity.

So far I have got my families and friends to sponsor me, I have held a bowling evening which raised £100, I am organising a sponsored walk (28 miles over a weekend) and treasure hunt and holding a car boot sale. Still got a long way to go to reach my target of £1500

One thing i have to say is it isnt going to be easy!! I have tied myself up nearly every weekend in March training and fundraising and it is definetely hard work! I wish your friend all the best! :)

Oh and definetely have a justgiving page its an easy way for your friends and family that are too far away to sponsor you in person and has the added benefit that the charity gets the money straight away

EDIT: If you want to have a look at what I have done I have a blog, a link to it can be found through my justgiving page which is on my profile. hope this helps :)
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!
