0870 numbers - BBC2 Wed 13:30 - Working Lunch

I heard on yesterday's programme that on today's programme they will be talking about the use of 0870 numbers for government agencies such as DVLA, Home Office, etc. and the huge amounts of cash raised at the cost of consumers while saying they'll be charged at "National Rate".

Make sure you watch at 13:30 BBC2 today, Wednesday!!

If you don't, you shall be suspended by thy nostrils from the tallest tree in the kingdom ;D

I've added a link to my Original Post above which takes you to their website - they will most probably add an article there at some point. I may not be able to watch it either and now can't record it either as my sister just spilt water over our VCR :mad:

I think you can watch a recording of the show online from the Beeb website.

Just double checked. You can watch the show - there is a lin "watch programme" on the top right hand side.

I thought they said this was on Thursdays programme?

It is definately tomorrow, Thursday, at 12-30

SEE HERE click on watch programme and move the slider to 20mins & 30 secs

No, just watched it - nothing on 0870 numbers. Will watch again tomorrow.

Thats what really annoyed me after the recent London bombings - the contact numbers provided were 0870 numbers - I found that disgusting and really they should have been freephone numbers.

I have difficultly sympathising with those who complain about 0870 numbers for things like the DVLA. It's quite simple: 0800 numbers = more expensive driving licences.
