Our chain broke - what now?

We were about to put in an offer on a house we're really keen on when our private buyer changed his mind!
What's the best way forward from here? We want the house (we're unlikely to have anything else which meets our needs in terms of location, price & plot size come up in the near future) but we need to sell our current one ASAP.
Ideas?

Consider your options for making the property attractive in the short term. The chief one is to make a price reduction. It might attract the original buyer back.0
