MICROSOFT OUTLOOK Address book

new pc-installed Outlook again & thought it would pick up my addresses from last PC because using same email address, but alas no! Is there anyway I can get them back-old Pc 'died' & was replaced under warranty-didnt have any stuff backed up!

    sorry but they have gone with old PC. The address book is not linked to the email address in any way.

    although if you still have the old PC with a working harddisk there might be hope...

    By default Outlook stores the addresses in the PST file which also contains the email messages. If this wasn't transferred then the address book won't be there.

    Thanks......I can stop wondering how now! What about old Outlook express address book which I still have on very old pc???? Any way I can tfr info fro there?

    You need to search for *.WAB files (Windows Address Book file), copy them across to the new machine then import into Outlook.

    Thanks Steve!..........I do have a problem in that old Pc only has Floppy drive for saving stuff(no cd writer), & new laptop has CD/DVDdrive & PC card slot, but maybe I could email files........I will have a fiddle around! Thanks again. Liz
