Hi,
I will be going bankrupt soon, my existing car insurance policy with swiftcover is up in the middle of march. The car is registered to my wife. No claims or accidents in the last five years +, full protected no claims.
I believe that she would be best taking the policy out in her name with me as a named driver as i have read that if any claim is paid out the money would have to go to the OR and not towards another car.
Who would be the best companies to go to that would take into account that she has been on another policy so she would not have to start again at high premiums.
Thanks

Hi - firstly I cant comment on the situation regarding the payout of a motor claim and any bankruptany.
regarding the policy being in your wifes name - the best thing to do is ask swift if they will allow you to 'give' your wife your ncd. Normally if you transfer from one insurer to another the policyholder has to be the person on the renewal notice stating ncd. Just to clear up say if you go to Norwich Union as policy holder then the renewal notice you send them has to be in your name for the ncd to be valid. However, where a company keeps the business, and can see that you were the pol holder some allow you to pass it on to a partner/spouse.
if they cant do it then I dont know who else to try though Axa are said to have high introductory discounts, how true this is I cant confirm0
