Just updated Comodo free firewall and locked myself out of the internet. Not sure why but combined with the latest microsoft updates you cannot connect to your server for internet access or email . Only way to resolve is to use a winsock reset - solution provided courtesy of TalkTalk. Please be very careful before you update - my sister took hours to resolve, then it happened to me !!

I just did mine (Comodo V3.x) on a Vista box. After the reboot it does prompt to blow away all existing config. to enable using new features. It picked up the networks and learnt the apps. OK.
I did disable the 'Defense' mode and 'anti-leak' business, sounds like the basic f/w is sorted and they're now starting to bloat it with the sort of marketing dept. inspired nonsense the makes Norton part of the problem not part of the solution. :mad:0 -
Yup - absolutely appalling programming. Comodo is technically a great firewall, but its default settings, the behaviour of Defense+ and now this "Press OK to delete all of your settings forever or CANCEL to run your firewall in low security mode" (paraphrased) is just ridiculous. I can grin and bear it myself, but I could never recommend the firewall to new users.

Couldn't agree more, I now use Online Armor for my firewall, easy to setup and very few intrusions.
I believe a few others here are using it, very good leaktest results, BUT not yet available for Vista.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
If you don't like Defense+, and I don't, I already have HIPS on board, then install without the HIPS component, option is there during install.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
