Free School Uniform

Did anyone hear anything on the news this morning about help with school uniform for low income families?

I was in the 'twilight' zone between sleep and waking and the clock radio had just come on. I don't get income support but to get CTC and a little bit of WTC. My son is going to secondary school in September and he needs a uniform, the cost of which isn't small!

Every little helps.

I phoned my local LEA to see if my area did any funding for help and was told that it had not helped since the 1970's, well only apparently in certain areas cause there is posts on here that say they have got help, so best to phone your Local education Authority!!

if i am right you get £50 in year 9 and year 11 on income support but a lot of authorities dont do it considering my daughters uniform come to £300 for secondary school as everything had to come from school shop and have logo on it even skirt and socks it dont go far.
