Customer Compliance

My son works full time and also gets DLA today he has recieved a letter which says he has to go for an interview with a customer compliance officer to discuss a query that has arisen concering his claim to the benefit. Can anyone tell us what this would be for and what happens at this interview? He has been asked to take passport or other means of identity. We have not changed anything in his claim or his work so are baffled by this. Thanks

  • He can request a written explanation or they may even explain over the phone.

Has he been asked to supply bank statements etc?

My son has a very rare condition and as its like a lot of other disabilities it is not at first visable but, does cause extreme pain he is 28 and has always worked but, has only been getting dla for a few months. There are a lot of people that would not work if they had this condition and he has not lied about working

Some nasty person has probably reported him.

Don't forget if he's working and claiming DLA - he's entitled to WTC :)

    Hope it's all okay

He has never claimed WTC as we thought he would not be entitled to anything else. To tell you the truth it took us a long time to realise that he could get dla while he was working.

Because he is working full time, and claiming DLA then i suspect they would like to ask more questions.

If his disability is genuine and it restricts him in some way then there will be nothing to worry about.
Its perfectly normal to be on DLA and to work aswell.

Even High Rate claimants can work.

Just a quick update my son went today and someone had rang the office on 19th november and said he was claiming IB(which he is not) and DLA as he has a bad ankle. The fella he seen said that the person did not know my son very well. It makes me sick that nothing is done when these people cause so much worry for the person claiming the DLA. If they only knew what you have to go through to get it and how much pain a lot of people are in every day. Jacqui
