Petrol at £1.04 - £1.12 a litre
Diesel at £1.10ish a litre
Can we really do anything as consumers? If this site is as much about Moneysaving as it claims, and gets 4 million plus viewers, lets unite and take some action. IT CAN BE DONE. If we finally stand up and stop ghost walking into more and more rises. We can slowly bring tax on petrol back down. PLEASE STAY WITH ME AND READ ON
Firstly, as Martins article states, fuel duty makes up 52% of the price of a litre. Is this really necessary, or just a way to con us without raising Income tax.
While I would be all for a fuel protest I don't think that would be the immediate solution, after all, it only made a difference in the past as it occured when elections were nearing. So naturally Labour had to put on their "Of course were listening" face. Then we re-elected them and up it went and again and again.
Now to try in desperate effort to slice the price of duty we can try the below, and we could quite easily reach millions of people. All you have to do is send the message below to 5-10 people. And we could reach millions and MAKE THAT DIFFERENCE. For example. If 500,000 read the below and each one of them send it to 5 people, thats 2.5 million people. Then if them 2.5 million people also spread the word. Then we are in business.
For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.
If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!
Please don't use them and we could easily get it back down to 69p a litre, I truly believe it can be done.
Please don't read this and think, "theres no point, it will never work". Because if we do, then what is the point in trying to save money or moaning about high tax rises, when we won't do anything about it. THE TIME IS RIGHT AND ITS SIMPLE AND EASY TO DO. LETS SHOW THEM WE WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. SIMPLY EMAIL EVERYONE AND ADVISE THEM OF THE ABOVE AND TO BOYCOTT ESSO AND BP. Then when the duty is noticably reduced that would then be the time to do a fuel protest and show that we all mean business and won't stand for this anymore. Show the government that for once we will not take this anymore. Already they are planning a further 2p rise in April.
If we could, could we get this in one of the weekly emails and reach as many people as possible. PLEASE GUYS, I TRULY BELIEVE THAT THIS IS POSSIBLE AND EVEN IF IT ISN'T. SURELY ITS AT LEAST WORTH A TRY. I MEAN BP AND ESSO ARE THE TWO MOST EXPENSIVE IN MY AREA ANYWAY. SO WHATS TO LOSE.

You do know that BP & ESSO get there fuel from the same refinary?
You do realise that the price of petrol is mainly tax & cost of oil?
The only way petrol will come back down to 69p a litre is by a reduction in tax. Not by reposting an email which has been doing the rounds for months and has been repeatedly reposted.0 -
We are aiming for a reduction in taxLive for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0
