Should I own a Credit Card even though I do not need credit?

You may struggle to hire a car or book a hotel room without a credit card these days.0

I've heard that paying off cc in full every month can lead to the cc being cancelled as unprofitable for the cc company. Anyone got a way round this, aside from not paying off monthly
One single company has done this.
If you don't make at least the minimum payment you will get a bad credit record for SIX years so you should not do this.
If you don't make the full payment you would get charged expensive interest (unless you have a good deal).
So my advice is pay off in full and ignore the (rather overblown) hype about one single card. You may struggle to hire a car or book a hotel room without a credit card these days.
This is absolutely correct.
These companies are happy with card because if you damage the room or car then they can take money from your card.
If you try to hire a car with cash then you'll have to leave hundreds of pounds as a deposit plus provide identity.
Credit cards also act as proof of identity for serveral things like car hire and e-tickets on some flights e.g. easyjet.0
