in Credit cards
not sure where to post this, we recently got a loan to pay of our outstanding balance on a holiday to florida and spending money, would it be better/safer to pay the balance off with our credit card giving that if anything goes belly up with the travel company we would get our money back, bearing in mind we would pay an extra 2.5% in admin fees using a credit card, then pay the balnce off with the loan, or just pay for the holiday straight out of the bank account the loan is in, hoping nothing goes wrong with the travel company and saving us a bit of money, the travel company we are going with is travel city direct who have been around for long enough, so there will probably be nothing to worry about, but it is a lot of money to lose, if something did go wrong, any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance Dave

Is the travel agent ABTA/ATOL bonded? If so, I'd trust in the bonding and save the extra credit card charge by paying using the loan (as you're no doubt already paying the interest on loan already).
I think you only need to pay £100 on the credit card to get the extra cover, anyway, so you could possibly split it further by paying the minimum required on the card and the rest with the loan.
Not commenting on the MSE nature of taking out a loan rather than saving for a holiday...Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0
