Can't find a 6.5% What If on their site - a coupe of What Ifs but with lower IRs. Are you sure about the 6.50%?This is not financial nor legal nor property advice. Consult a paid professional if in doubt.0 -
but answers bristolleedsfan's thought of the interest lost when deciding what to do at the end of the fixed term.
I
I was actually thinking about loss of interest while the funds are being moved elsewhere at the end of the 6 months. ( while the funds are in transit elsewhere)
Also the expectation is that savings rates will be lower in 6 months time, hence my belief that fixing for minimum of 12 months is more prudent, unless someone needs the funds sooner.0 -

Hi Tawse57,
You could be right-and I am booked for an eye test as it happens! Yes, it must be 6% and then 5.5%. When I asked about the monthly income on say £90k I was quoted a net figure of £350.25 during the first 6 months, dropping to £293.25 for the following 6 months. I would presume that at that stage I would be looking at what else was on offer.....I will check at the branch tomorrow about any possible glitches in that presumption.
Having said that, I'll just go to your link and look at the T&C's......meanwhile, anyone seen a better offer that's stress free?0 -
If you want stress free I personally would not consider putting more than 30K in B&B - it is considered amongst the most at risk UK banks. This is not financial nor legal nor property advice. Consult a paid professional if in doubt.0

iii.co.uk - what a frustrating forum it uses. Painful to use IMPO.
Yes, I thought so too when I first started to use it. It was for the portfolio that I wanted it for but only because I was having trouble with Trustnet.
The iii portfolio system is awful and I got a very indifferent response when I queried something with them but I must have signed up for emails and haven't got around to cancelling them. The Trustnet problem is all sorted now (my fault of course) and there is a lovely senior person there who is always very helpful...and kind. The portfolio system is great - very easy to see all info on one page.0 -

I am not good at links but it is the discussion board you need so you will have to register to post. Just checked, you will need to log in. The other poster above is right, it is a messy site to use. I think if you enter Bradford & Bingley in the search box you can gravitate to the Discussion Board from there. Interesting...chart there shows B &B as a buy or strong hold.0
