balance transfer

i would like to pay off my car loan £5k by using my halifax one card. once the payment has gone through i would like to do a balance transfer onto my new barclaycard that is offering 0% for 14 months. is this possible or will the halifax or barclaycard companies reject this. barclaycard have said that i cannot pay off the loan direct with them and still claim the 0%.

  • You won't be able to pay the loan off direct with the Halifax card.

You'd need to get a card that would allow the credit available on the card to be transferred to your bank account.

You can with a credit cheque - might be worth going to your branch and asking if they can issue one or send some out to you.
