Club la costa

I recieved a call yesterday from 'my offers' saying I had won a holiday and they gave me a number (0800) and a code which was for club la costa who told me I have won a 7 night holiday with flights in one of their med resorts, all i have to do is go to a one of their seminars in London to collect.
I am assuming they are timeshare selling, has anyone had any experience of them before?
At the moment I am steering well clear!

I'm also annoyed as this is my first compers win!

i like you had a similar call recently and booked to go to one of their seminars
but after thinking about it i asked some questions on this site, the answer quite simply is to not touch this with a barge pole. check out the ive won thread and also search costa club on this site. like me you will be disappointed but not out of pocket0 -
Well i can give first hand experience of this company. I too won a holiday last year, flights included. I chose Tenerife as a destination and gave a few dates of when we could go. We went to the seminar in Birmingham, if you do decide to go just keep saying no ! We had the voucher and booked holiday. It cost us £108 in total for a week and we even got transfers thrown in ;-). Anyway the complex we were on was 2nd to none, apartment was huge and there was only 2 of us. The welcome introduction at poolside was fantastic. They tell you about the trips in the area and you do get fantastic discounts if you book through them, oh and free lunch and booze lol.All we had to do while we were there was have another tour of their other complex's in the area, and got treated to a free buffet breakfast. All in all a fantastic time was had by the both of us and i would certainly do it again. The only time we saw a rep after that was walking around with other people. They were friendly and polite, but can be pushy in the talk lol. JUST SAY NO!! They rang me up a couple of weeks ago to go on another one, but you have to wait 12 months between holidays grrrrrr.
Anyway its not really for the "can only go in school holidays, i have special needs etc". My OH and myself are quite flexible with dates so it suited us, plus we are also central to 4 airports in Stoke.
If you think you could do with a cheap holiday then this is for you.
And before anyone asks then no i dont work or own a holiday share etc lol......just my experience of taking advantantage of a cheap holiday.0 -

wako777 - We've all had experience of timeshares, etc so don't let it put you off, keep entering - the big win is only around the corner (trouble is some of us take ages to reach the corner!)"Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0

I understand what you are saying, but have you actually ever been on one ??????? The money was for the flight taxes which just came into force about 4 weeks before we flew. I have been on the "holiday" i bought nothing. We can all say no, obviously some people are more weak minded than others. If you think the words will not come out of your mouth then stay away from it. We had a fantastic time and parted with no money.......... only the £108 which we knew about.
So i say again have you actually been on one of the holidays ????0 -
I have been invited to many; and I've endured 2 lots of presentations and said no both times. My in-laws, however, bought a timeshare and can't get rid of it for love nor money.
I've won many prizes including a holiday to Barcelona last year (thanks to Kipper) and never had to pay the promoters to receive any of them.
There again I've never put my hand into a fire but I know not to.From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
