car insurance vic check

hello
as you know i,m going through insurance claim at moment(other side denied all libility they put a price on it classed it as cat c all subject to libility

my problem now is 3 months down the line i,ve managed to get all parts from scrapyards get it mot but now can,t insure it because it needs a vic check
can,t get it checked because it not on they system as cat c nor on dvla system so they won,t check it told insurance company from other side and they said they have put it on there system told my insurance this and they still won,t insure me nor will most other insurers
i have told them i,m inprocess of claim and everthing as i can,t see point in paying £500 and not being properly insurered
