Hy there,
just wanted to say you are not alone !
I was in a violent/controling marriage for 14yrs,i finally got the guts to leave him(i don't know where from) i fled with the kids that was nearly 3 yrs ago.Police put a restraining order on him .I got a rented house and started to enjoy life again.problem was i worked with my ex so i found myself without a job.could,nt really get work as i had the kids so ended up on benifits.(i now work part time and get family & child tax credits !
so....i ended up using credit cards(lied to get em) to live on,buy furniture etc !
I am sat here now with £15,000 of debts !
I too started drinking to drown my sorrows,got no family around me as they all live up North,got afew friends but not the the kind you talk about yr debts with.i don't go out much as i can't afford it !
I did start making tracks but then my brother killed himself(threw himself of a block of flats)this set me back emotionaly and financialy ,still can't get over it !
But...today i have decided to tackle all this mess once and for all,don't want to do DMP as i'm worried if the owners of this house want it back i will hav't to rent somewhere else and as theres only privatly owned ones where i live i cant get council.
so my plan is to stuggle paying debts and go without stuff and get credit rating back up for when i need it !
I to am sat here with no money(god it sucks) and my only friend is the internet at the moment.
This site i a godsend ! ive got loads of tips and its good to know people are in same boat as me(you always feel like yr the only one)
I won't buy anything unless its BOGOF or 3 FOR 2 OR 1/2 PRICE !
Gonna sort out stuff to sell(got loads of crap lying about)
Heating and hot water only go on twice aday now.
Canceled sky and changed phones and internet over etc also gone pay as you go on my mobile,this has made me use my phone alot moe wisley.I go to local college for hair cuts (it hardly cost anything)
So you see i am trying...but its hard and i get really down like you !

Theres lots of people on here that are down like us...your not alone so do try and hang in there,its gonna be hard but we'll come through !

My god this has ended up like a novel,sorry !

Glad you have found the site.

there's plenty of people who will give you advice on your finances ect and the best way to deal with them but I'm not that good at that haha.

Sounds like you've had a bit of a struggle, I hope that things are on the up.
