Direct line insurance

Hi,
Was in process of buying car insurance but read in small print that the
- The number of accidents or claims for each driver does not exceed 2 in the last 3 years nor does it exceed 6 in total across all drivers.

I have claimed in nov 2005 - third party hit me and twice in jan 2008 for windscreen/glass window damage - tried stealing my car

Will i not be able to take this policy on this basis?

Any help please? - thanks

double check with them USUALLY if its just glass/windscreen that you claim for it should not have a loading on the pol or effect ncd, therefor most insurers dont acknowledge it as a 'real' claim.

i didnt follow eactly what you meant though, was it
    1) third party hit you
    2) windscreen
    3) attempted theft

or was it for attempt theft twice (ie 2&3)?
  • 1. was third party hit me from behind
    2. smashed window
    3. smashed window again but they had tried to take car this time

if you only claimed for the glass then they should not have any loadings on the pol, if the third claim is listed as an attempted theft claim then it will do.

It would prob be best to call them to clarify, but I'd check with your current insurer first as to exactly what they have listed the claims as.

they listed both as glass claims - no effect on no claims so have gone with direct line.
