Anyone had dealings with GE money?

Well it looks like play time with the creditors again, only for my OH this time.
There are a handfull on here that will know why but she finaly was unable to meet her paymants last month.
This wont nescessarely have to end in BR but im going to have to 'buy her some time' to try and get away with this, but GE money have surpassed themselves by apparently issuing a default for a missed payment for less than £15 for a paymant that is only three weeks late
Talk about heavy handed, so just wanted to ask if anyone else had to deal with this lot?
Are they going to be as hard to deal with as the above implies?

GE Money are the guys behind alot of those buy now, pay later schemes you are often offered in stores. Well, atleast they were when I worked for Halfords! It was called an Edge card I believe.
Anyway, they're also behind the Paypal Credit Card. I had trouble trying to transfer the PPCC to another Credit Card as it was blocked at PP's end. Whilst chatting to the bank about it, they (the other CC guys) said GE Money is something to do with Halifax.
Not alot of help I'm afraid, but a little info could go a long way

One of my creditors were GE money (a storecard) from stopping payment to finally going BR they were a total pain in the a s s most def NOT a firm you would reccomend to anyone, phonecalls non stop every day at the weirdest of times..nasty call ops threats of al sorts, nasty letters NO flexibility whatsoever about token payments..since discharge looked at my credit files and they were the only one still applying defaults to my account way after BR date saying I still owe them £700..i've since reported them to the information commisioner after they refused to ammend my credit file...received an acknowldgement this morning in the post so watch this space...two words to sum up GE money? total !!!!!!!s!We all die. I have experience of them with regard to a DMP....
They rang every day to complain of missed payments - every day I told them about the DMP and gave my reference number, which they then confirmed was on the system.
They carried on ringing every day and I complained and asked if they wanted me to tell them the same thing every single day because it wasn't going to change. Apparently the first person to be told about the DMP should have put a flag on the system so I wasn't rung for another x weeks - but didn't, took the 5th person to actually do this
When they got details of the DMP they wrote saying they don't accept. Then a week later another department wrote saying they heard from CCCS and do accept the DMP and will freeze interest. Then two days later yet another department wrote and said they don't accept and haven't heard from CCCS
Turns out they did accept and stop interest and charges and have been quiet for months now
So I think not all their staff know how to use the system and none of the departments talk to each other!!
Have fun! working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
My daughter has alot of experience with them in the form of "Nooooooo, sorry, mommy's not home" when they called, everyday, often several times a day, when i started missing payments to them. They made up around 1/3rd of my br
I kept getting notes from them saying they would start legal proceedings with their own pre-printed red notes on saying things like "default notice served under secontion 87 (1) of the consumer credit act" - they sent that the beginning of january, i went BR on monday and arrived home to another "if you do not pay within 7 days we'll begin legal proceedings" (despite the january one threatening it within 14 days... hmmm) I did try calling them and explaining i had difficulty paying but their answer was largely "well find the money" but in fancier words.
Oddly enough they've not called since my BR.... actually i'm feeling pretty lonely with the fact no one aside from my mother calls since i was made br:j BSC #101 :j0 -
This is really funny and shows what a set of pratts they are, ive just looked at the letters and realised that although the first letter said to avoid acton make paymant by one of the methods overlief one of which states "allow 7 working days for paymant to be credited to your account" yet between getting the first in the post and the date on the default letter they have only left 3 working days so even if we could and had made the paymant the default would have been issued before they could have got and proscessed it

This will be fun:pThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….
