Hi All,
I'm in the process of leaving a company car scheme to run my own vehicle but am having trouble getting insurance which will take account of my 7 years no claims built up on my company car which can be backed up by a letter from my company, my question is does anyone know of any companies that will take this into account ?
Thanks for your input.

Companies often will accept an employers letter, and give an introductory discount equivalent to the ncd it would have been if you had been a policyholder for 7 years (eg Direct Line).
But I don't think any will make it a "transfer in" of ncb entitlement. So you will still have to build up your own history as an insured driver to get the full benefit of ncb (especially only dropping down the scale after a claim)0 -

if you had sole use of the vehicle then Churchill may well be the best bet, there are a couple of other criteria also and you have to do it over the phone (well do it online - save it, then phone and get them to transfer and ask for the internet discount) they will give you the discount equivelant to the maximum ncd for your first year.
If fault claim free then on renewal you would get a full set of ncd in your name (with the option to protect) if you have 1 fault claim you would still get 3 years ncd using the step back process for loss of ncd.
Best thing about this is that you are not obliged to stay with them to get full ncd, if you wanted to leave at renewal with full ncd you could.
thats what they did for my dad when he was in the same position about 9 months ago;)0 -
