Property Owner's Liability Insurance - when letting?

Hi,
I have a flat in a modern block which I plan to let out.
As part of the Service Charge I make payment towards a block insurance policy. The policy seems to cover property owner's liability but the policy is in the name of the main freeholder/landlord and covers the whole development.
I'm confused as to whether this would cover me in the event a tenant made a claim against me or do I need to buy a separate standalone policy for this purpose?
Would welcome any advice please and if I do need a standalone policy please can anyone recommend a good one?
Many thanks in advance.

Depends on what the tenant was claiming for. I can't see that a tenant can claim against you for something to do with your own property - where would the tenant suffer a loss?
In any event, it would be a good idea to have Landlord's insurance, to cover you for your obligations as a LL.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac
