Hi

I am about to put in a claim for a chipped hob and was wondering if I am able to claim for a broken dishwasher catch at the same time which is stopping the whole dishwasher from working? I wasn't sure if most insurances cover appliances?

Do you have accidental damage cover?

You won't be covered for "wear and tear" but you might be covered for accidental damage if you paid for that option.

Remember though that you will be penalised for claiming by higher premiums so I wouldn't have thought it was worth it for a dishwasher.

Is the chipped hob causing a problem?
If it's something you can live with and it's not going to cut anyone then personally I would just live with it, as it's likely to cost you hundred in increased premiums.

How old is the dishwasher?
Did it stop working just becasue it's old and through use or was there an incident that lead to it being damaged.

Oh I didn't realise it would affect your overall premium. The dishwasher broke because we slammed the door too hard. I might have to re-think if the claims affect the cost.
