Alliance & Leicester mailshots

Options
This morning I received another loan offer.I contacted A&L on their nice free phone number.I asked to be taken off the mailing list. The lady who took the call
promptly filled out a form over the phone. She advised me it can take around 12
weeks to come off.Has anyone experienced this or is it just these lot who can be slow to act. There was me just thinking it would be so easy just to delete the customer's name for no further mail.

Mailings like these are normally contracted out to external mailing companies. One batch of letters might be sent out over an extended period, as they don't want all the phone calls to come in at once. So they can't guarantee that there won't be a period of time during which the letters arrive from when you are marked as "do not mail".

It's not just A&L, it is a generic thing.

I used to work for the Alliance & leicester about 3 years ago and regarding the mailshots they produce a number of different ones so it would more than likely take a few months to totally stop receiving mailshots from them.

If you dont want to phone them or it is not a free phone number just return the letter to sender and write on the letter "please remove from mailing list" and once they have actioned your request you will be removed from their list but may receive more mailshots while your request is being actioned.

They normally use a fair few data suppliers so it is a common event that you could be on 5 companies data record so they would have to remove you from each companies list as they supply all their data separatly and does not get picked up if your pulled from one companies record you will still recieve mailshots from others.

When phoning up companies make sure you quote the mailshot reference as this will speed up your details being removed from the lists

Hope this is of some help to you
