Non Performing Seller

Hi, just bought a mobile phone & payed immediately by paypal & then received a payment back from him saying that there should have been a reserve price on it & he couldn't sell at that price..
Paypal also took their fee from his payment back so now i've no phone & have lost nearly £1 for the priviledge.
Apart from reporting him as a non performing seller is there anything else i can do..?
Cheers, Brian......

Hi Brian
It sounds like he sent you the money instead of refunding.
If he refunded you it shouldnt have cost you anything.
Ask him for the differences or you could refund him the money and then ask him to do the same via the transaction details in paypal that way it wont cost you anything

Sounds like a great way to avoid fees though. You wouldn't have to pay for a reserve price fee. Just not bother selling it to the highest bidder if the price doesnt suit.
Could be the start of a disturbing trend....0 -
I didn't think you could send paypal money unless you had an open transaction with the person. as he was the seller I couldn't see how he could send you money without refunding?? Also he would have got charged for the first payment he sent you so he wouldn't lose anything by refunding you as his fees surely would have been refunded? maybe he didn't know what he was doin??
