Travel Insurance for UK trips

Hi

I'm off on my hols to the Isles of Scilly this year, so I'm looking for a single trip travel insurance policy to cover this trip.

I have looked at several policies on the web, but I've noticed in the small print that most policies seem to contain a clause which excludes cover for travel delays and missed departures for trips within the UK (which I believe the Isles of Scilly are in).

Since I'll be flying, I'd really like the policy to include this cover.

Does anyone know of a policy that will meet my needs?

Not usually, if the UK trip is to pre-booked accommodation for at least 2 days.

Read this - and then go down to the Moneysupermarket link (bottom of article) for a quote (select 'Single Trip' and then UK as the destination). I think you'll find travel delay compensation is the same as it would be for a trip abroad?

I've got quotes from Moneysupermarket, but when I've clicked on the Policy Wording link, some of them seem to explicitly state that Travel Delay and Missed Departure aren't included. For example Colombus Direct - Europe wording states...

"5ECTION 5 TRAVEL DELAY AND ABANDONMENT
This section does not apply to trips within your country of residence.
SECTION 7 MISSED DEPARTURE
This section does not apply to trips within your country of residence."

Some other policies don't explicitly state that they exclude UK trips, but seem to assume that you're going abroad, for example Flexicover direct - single trip (Premier) states...

"SECTION 7 – UK DEPARTURE ASSISTANCE & MISSED UK CONNECTION
What is covered:
We will pay ... should You be delayed or miss Your connection as follows:
On Your Outward Journey from the UK Area:
...
SECTION 8 – MISSED DEPARTURE ON THE OUTWARD JOURNEY
What is covered:
We will pay ...
if You arrive at the airport, port or international coach or rail terminal too late to commence the outward journey abroad of Your booked Trip..."

Therefore, I assume that these exclude UK trips too?
