Some local houses for sale, amazed at the price.

I've been looking at Rightmove because there are few "for sale" signs nearby and I'm nosey like that.

I'm amazed at the prices being asked and wonder how long they will take to sell in the 2008 environment.

It's an early 90s estate in a really nice location. It's a pretty tidy place - no problems with noise or litter etc. It's on the outskirts of a small town, nothing special, but nothing badly wrong with it either.

It started with this house 2 doors down from me. Quite a tidy house and location, but not much larger than my 1 bed flat inside.

£105K for a 1 bed in the same block as where I live. I paid £85K (market value probably £90K) 2 years ago.

£140K for slightly larger 2 bed flats across the road (not much larger though)

The latest house is this: £190K for a very average 3 bed

A lot of people are going to very disapointed!

How are they going to sell you ask? Simple: At auction.

They are probably most BTL Hamsters bailing out.
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.

I know about two of them. One is a couple who are moving to another house, so not BTL. One of the flats is owned by a guy who works abroad.

Don't worry the house price fall message is eventually getting out.

    BBC today:
The number of UK surveyors reporting house price falls grew for the sixth consecutive month in January.
