I've always used gumtree. Sometimes letting agents have a tendency to rip you off....
  • I know someone who is interested in letting their 4bed house in Glenavy for approx £450 monthly if you are interested.:j

I would be very wary of gumtree, all of the adverts I have replied to seem to then be answered by a child who could be aged no more than about 8. That is not the sort of landlord I fancy and I would be very concerned that they are not going through the proper channels and your rights could be infringed.

As for who to look at.... go to property news and search. If that does not succeed then look at the agents who are coming up on your searches and go to them directly.
    2 + 2 = 4
except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.

The Rental Company or Property One come to mind, possibly Prestige Property but I've found they weren't too helpful towards prospective tenants. They had a habit of not calling me back, especially if they were waiting for a property to come available and you were on the waiting list for a viewing.

Avoid Hot Property, they're hopeless, and I'm not overwhelmed by Karl Bennett, or Bennett and Lisk as they are now, quite aggressive I thought.

McCleary Estate Agents on Cregagh Road also act as letting agents - or used to, anyway. A friend rented through them and thought they were thorough and reliable.

Also a couple of recommended agents on this thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1104847&highlight=agent

I rent through Martin & Co and they are based on the Woodstock Road. Have had absolutely no problems with them and they have a lot of stock in the area.

Have a look on https://www.propertynews.com - its the site I went to when I moved last year.
