Does anyone have any advice? I am wanting to set up my own website and have never done it before? Does it cost a lot? Is it possible to do it for free? Possible pitfalls etc?
many thanks

Totally depends what you want the site to do. You could set something up for free, or nearly-free, if you're willing to put up with something a little naff - or if you're willing to invest some time and effort.
If you post more details about exactly what you'd want the site to do, then I'm sure plenty of people could offer more information.0
