  • I know Belfastgirl, would you even admit that, and then not even offer a refund

  • The manager has decided to let us have the one treatment. Apparently it is their policy to make non residents take 2 hours, but if we book it through her, she will let us take one treatment. They will know we are the complainers when we go. Hope they go easy!
  • Well done for getting some satisfaction. That really was appalling. A number of years ago I bought someone a spa voucher that they never used. On the day it expired, they went to the spa and were able to use the voucher to buy products rather than treatments, which at least meant the voucher wasn't wasted.

I had an experience at the Redcastle Hotel in Donegal. I stayed there with my sister and we planned to use the spa as a way of curing hangovers. Unfortunately, when we got up in the morning, there was no water in the hotel. When we went to check out, we complained that not only did we not get to use the spa, but we didn't get to have a shower either. The manager said he would take the price of breakfast off our bill. We pointed out that (a) we hadn't had breakfast, and (b) how did they manage to prepare breakfast without water? - I'm talking hand hygiene here. Got nowhere. Apparently it's perfectly acceptable to run a 4* hotel like a flophouse.
