negotiating with a bike dealer over a moped

 I am looking at a second hand moped for my son on friday. It looks a good bike: low mileage, just serviced, new tyres and clean bodywork.

How do I pitch my offer to the bloke without looking a complete idiot on one hand, but making him realise that I am serious about getting a bargain?

Your advice is really appreciated.

The bike is 3 years old and is up for £895

Good negotiation tool on a bike is to ask him to throw in accessories - helmet, gloves, boots, lock etc. He might not give you £200 off the bike but £200 worth of accessories won't cost him that due to his markup on the accessories. Just a thought...
