Is payment by paypal via credit card instant transfer?

Options
I won a item in ebay in 6 Feb and paid by paypal the funding source of which is my visa credit card. After I paid, the status of this payment was completed. In 8 Feb, the statement of my credit card showed this money had been cleared already. However in 11 Feb, the seller said the payment had not been cleared yet, so he did not delivery the item. I do not know whether he was lieing or not. His feedback is less than 10. I did not use any echeque payment, so I thinks the status of my payment in the seller's paypal account should not be cleared or uncleared, but completed. Is payment by paypal via credit card instant transfer? Any help or suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks.

  • If the status says it has cleared, then the buyer should have the money. If it hasn't cleared, there is an egg timer symbol displayed to both you and the buyer. You need to contact paypal, although I think if your funding source is credit card, you have fewer rights with paypal - not sure exactly but when I added a credit card a warning message came up saying something like that.
  • Some sellers - especially new sellers - seem to think that they need to transfer the funds from their Paypal account into their bank account before the money is 'safe'.

This may be what your seller has done/thinks, which would add another 4 or 5 days waiting time for you.

    Really? That is so ridiculous!

they are probably waiting for the funds to show up in their bank account, as they sound reasonably new (10 feedbacks) thats probably the case.

you could message them informing them that the payment has cleared and now that it's reached their paypal account they should be sending the item out. once had a seller like this and he was a nightmare!

you have MORE rights when funding your paypal payments with a credit card, if the baboons @ paypal dont sort things out for you, contact your card provider and try to get a chargeback arranged.

the warning message that came up was just trying to stop you from using a credit card because it costs paypal more to arrnge a payment this way. don't believe any of the 3 reasons for funding through your account, they are irrelevant when you consider the secuirty you get from your credit card provider.

Thanks. The seller lied like a gas meter. He said[FONT=arial,sans-serif] payment had not been cleared at all time, but as a matter of fact, it had been cleared already.
