We are in West Sussex.Unsure if your job will require this........
Don't want to be a killjoy here but when we done this we had to involve the local authority and paid £125 for two inspections and a completion certificate.
We had to dig about 2m underground to attach the collar to the main run area.
In 2000 we paid £125 for the materials. Our local borough asked for the underground pipe to be brown.Companies can put on bills around £1000 for this type of work if they have to dig out and back fill etc.We had to also make sure the bird's nest (in plastic)was at least one metre away from the bathroom window. This let's the smell rise and not back in.But there were other options for this.

Do a check with the local authority just incase and also remeber that if you decide to sell the surveyor may ask to see a completion certificate.Alot of digging out if you haven't gone through the correct procedure.(info only)
  • I'd charge around £300 to do this..in Nottingham though.

I wanted the same job doing last year, but also moving the location of exit from the bathroom (ie. moving the toilet).

I got the local water board in to quote me and it was £850, inclusive of all costs.

This was too much for me so I ended up doing an internal run from new toilet location, boxed in to hide it, and used a "multikwik" connector to connect the plastic inside to the cast iron stack.

    Cost me about 20 quid.

After recently moving house we are now wanting to move our toilet (within the same room but to the rear external wall from the side external wall).

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Would I have the waste pipe routed internally or externally?

What restrictions are there as far as waste pipe bends/angles are concerned?

    Many Thanks
