How to maximise size of window

I have a new laptop running Windows Vista home Premium (which I know nothing about ).
When i click on a URL on a web page, the new web page that opens is in a small window that has to be maximized manually each time in order to read the page or fill in forms. This is very inconvenient and I wondered if there was a setting somewhere to make the new window open up full screen ( or nearly so )
Sorry if this is a very dumb question but I have never had a new pooter before and never had to set one up to my own preferences. My old computer was inherited with windows 98 and everything already set up.
I am slowly getting used to Vista and reading my way through the manuals , but there just arent enough hours in the day!
Thanks for any help

Draging the new window to full size (bottom right) then closing Internet explorer, then reopening works in XP, should be the same in vista. Alan.Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0

Another alternative is to alter the registry to make all windows opened maximised although this may have very odd effects on other apps opening maximised when you dont want them too like installer screens etc.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
Add a new DWORD value named “MaximizeApps” Set the value to 10 -
Many thanks, both. Appears to be sorted now . Funny how its the little things that drive you mad.0

Right click on the shortcut icon for Internet Explorer >> Properties >> Shortcut tab >> Run (drop down menu), slect whether you want it to open the window, normal, minimized or maximised.
Just another alternative for the future :]0
