joint account overdraft

I am just about to get a joint account with my girlfriend for mortgage and bills etc...

i doubt there is, but are there any joint bank accounts that have a free overdraft feature. This would be good as money is going straight in and out and we don't particularly want to leave a float sitting in the account.

are there any particular features to look for in joint accounts?

Comments

  • Joint accounts mean joint debts if you use an overdraft.
If you split up then you cannot turn round and say to the bank - here's my 50% of the overdraft my partner is responsible for the rest.

It is called joint and several liability.
