Life and critical illness cover

Hi.
I have recently applied for joint life and critical illness cover through cavendish online - (liverpool victoria). After completing a medical I have been refused critical illness cover based on my bmi (37) 20 stone 6.1" height.
My partner has been accepted and I would like to ask, if I should just get a cheap stand alone critical illness cover or should I re-apply elsewhere for the full cover?
