Network Q - Tyres problem

Hi, we bought an ex demonstrator, Vauxhall Vectra from our local Vauxhall dealer in July last year and were told that to pass the Network Q checks four new tyres would be fitted to the vehicle before we could take delivery...
A problem developed with one of the tyres on Friday, massive bulges around inside wall of drivers side front tyre.... As the tyres had done only 7000 miles we took back to local dealer who, when booking the vehicle in to be checked told us that only the front two tryes had been replaced! Obviously we were angry that we had been misled at time of purchase but left the vehicle so that tyres could be inspected. After leaving the vehicle with them over an hour to check, told us that the damage was caused by impact and therefore we would have to bear cost of replacement.
We took tyre to independant tyre specialist and was told that the incorrect specification tyre had been fitted to the front of the vehicle. For our model of Vectra the only tyre to be used was 91Y with an extra load rating. We agreed to have both front tyres changed to the correct specification. On removing the old tyres from both front wheels the side walls were split completely around both inside edges and were so thin you could push a fingernail through.
Surely with the Network Q guarantee this should have been spotted a. before the car was allowed to leave the forecourt and b. after checking again on Saturday..
Their 114 point checklist includes : Ensure all round tyre compatibility, and Ensure correct tyre specification...
My question is... do we have any redress for the cost of new tyres, the driving of an unsafe vehicle, and of course driving with insurance that would be null and void in the event of accident as incorrect specification tyres on vehicle?
Thanks

You can try, but really when the Trye Dealer gave you the information you should have then returned to the Vauxhall Dealer and given them the opportunity to either confirm or deny the Tyre Dealer's opinion. Depending upon their response would then dictate your next course of action.0

Did you keep the removed defective tyres as evidence? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Hi
Yes, we have kept the defective tyres as requested by The Vauxhall Dealer for inspection.....
We spoke to the Vauxhall dealer by phone after independant tyre inspector told us they were worong tyres.... They were unable to give any guidance as it was 5 min to them finishing at 1 o'clock and there were no managers available ....
I needed the car for work and interview on the monday.... the vauxhall garage were unable to provide tyres or courtesy car ... the tyres would have to have been ordered in.0 -
What was the rating of the tyres that you removed?0

The tyres that were removed were 87Y and the recommended for the vehicle 91Y extra load.....
They are 19inch 235 / 35 SP2
91Y extra load were fitted on the rear.... but as Vectra CDTi 1.9 150 xp should be all round!0
