Question for Deal Drivers
Hi,
We are in the market to buy a new car. We have, finally, decided on an Aygo (or Citroen C1 or Peugeot 107) or Mazda 2. We could buy now - or March. We have the cash to change but Aygo is on 0% so we'd be silly not to takeit and keep interest on our offset mortgage at 6.19% tax free.
What sort of deal should we be looking to strike? Are any of the above companies under good bonuses over the impending months?
We have a Part Exchange but it's of little value. A webuyforcash type outfit will pay 1000 for her and on used models circa 7k we have been offered 1200 and 1500 (but the latter was against a used car we were not all that impressed by so I think the dealer knew he'd have to go in big to capture our interest)
What are your thoughts on the approach we should take?

Hi,
Remember the 0% deal means that you probably wont get any discount on the price (or a smaller discount) - so it may be better to go in with cash. Ask the dealer for both prices. Straight cash and with the 0% finance.
Citroen always have some good offers on. Or try a broker. Drivethedeal have got
Citroen C1 1.0i Vibe 3dr £5694 Saving £1501
Toyota Aygo 1.0 VVT-i 3dr £5962 Saving £983
Peugeot 107 1.0 Urban Lite 3dr £5700 Saving £1395
P/X wise, the cost to change is the most important figure. Say the dealer offers you £1500 for your car on a 7 grand new model, you pay £5500.
What if you got the car at £6k for a cash deal and sold the car privately for £1000, you have only paid £5k.0
