Don't know if you would consider it but after my little one was born I did Ann Summers house parties and earned quite a bit of money!!! You get to choose your own hours and are practically self employed, however you do need to go to meetings every now and then and you def need a carThe two best things I have done with my life

music stores are dying!
but you could start by trawling through charity shops/car boots/e-bay for old stuff and sell on!?!?0 -
@ Cunningfox i dont have the money behind me to open a shop
@money maker my friend did ann summers she put a bit of money into it then decided it wasn't for her and it took quite a while to get out of it
i think i'll give Avon a whirl and have a go at Mystery shopping.
Thanks for your ideas, you have all been a great help and it's given me something to think about and i'll definately be looking into the JSA claim:starmod:If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change. The devil changes you:starmod:0 -
I agree that network marketing can actually be a good way to make some extra money if you know what you're doing, if you associate yourself with a good company and if you put a little bit of time and effort into it each week. Of course people are still very skeptical about these types of businesses, but the fact is that they do work if you do them right. With the increase of online network marketing, the tide is slowly starting to turn and the major companies are starting to gain a little more respect from the general public.0

better here so i have re posted it with a bit of editing!
Hi i started work in a shop "part time" so i was entitled to claim job seekers allowance, however due to some staff going on the sick and some handing their notice in i was getting more hours so i stopped the claim.
i got my new rota for the next four weeks and my hours have been dropped down again to less than 16 (minimum 10 for one week) they wont offer me stable hours, last week i did 50 hours sunday to sunday and the jobcentre have advised me not to try for a new claim unless they can offer me stable hours!
so im wondering what would be the best way to make extra cash?
i was wondering if catalouges would be any good like betterware or kleeneazy? but i have just read the thread about it and it doesn't look too appealing now
i was thinking about avon to but the elderly lady next door said she does it and only has 2 customers.
i'm looking for something that pays i do surveys but they only give vouchers.
can anybody give me some ideas please?
much appreciated
Please don't hate me for suggesting it, but have you tried registering with an agency to do temp work.
I work for any agency (as a consultant) & if you don't mind what you do, then maybe go & try it.
Things I look for when people come to me for a job are
a willingness to do any type of work, be it washing up, cleaning, picking & packing, bar, waiting.
a good understanding of spoken & written English (which you have)
Someone who is not going to stand around waiting to be told what to do, but ask what to do instead.
I love people who are only available part time, partly because alot of my business (catering) is the odd day or 2 & different every week & partly because they are often willing to do the slightly more obsure hours (evenings & weekends). If your 10 falls on 2 days then you still have 3 days of the week to work.
The only downside is that Temping is NOT GUARENTEED (even a 3 week booking can change form day to day.
If you want more info, let me know.
Hope this helps.:j:j

Hi just a word of advice.
I did bettaware a few years ago and it was a nightmare!!
I spent 8 hours delivering all the catalogues in my local area, spent a further 8 hours collecting them and received about £150 of orders.
After delivering all the goods and collecting the money, i took my 10% commision (£15 for approx 20 hours work!) Nightmare!
As far as i'm aware, Avon offers similar commision.
And that was that!
I'd much favour office cleaning for extra hours. 2 hours a day (mon to fri)could rake in approx £50 p/w0
