did you just call and say when you when you wanted it to be Alllan?
I'm just in the process of changing suppliers so will see what dates I get then see about changing.
    Have you changed any others?

Just to let you know I've called them and there is no minimum income, they look at each case separately. And better still with FD cards you can pay on the day its due and although it will take a few days to clear/show on accounts its backdated to the day you paid so your money can actually stay in your first account longer (where as external cards need paying about 4 days in advance).

My dilemmas now...... how long will this offer last, do we apply now or wait until the mortgage completes? And also do we risk applying for one each or a joint one?

Jem16 - That's bad about the valuation. I'm sure it will be sorted in time, as he's very near the end of the process now.

I hope so. He phoned again today but it's still not been sent out although they did say it would be with him by the end of the week. However they said that last week too!

I think he will be phoning each day until they send it - might hurry them along.

One thing that came out of my phone call last night was I suddenly remembered I have loads of credit cards still open from my stoozing days. Am frantically writing cancellation letters now :o

quick phone call and easily done, just tell them what date you want the payment taken.
my mortgage, gas, electric, water, life insurance, home insurance and union subscription all go out on the 28th.

Lostsocks there were no FD external mail fires either then :rotfl: Glad its going well still.

No thank goodness. No more postal fires to worry about now. ;)

Hope your amended offer comes through soon. Although I did think that was quite nice that somebody owned up to making the mistake and apologising. The norm if for them to pass the buck, so it's nice that somebody has taken ownership of the mistake and is sorting it out for you.

    Hi all,

Here I am again, drinking coffee at lunch-time.

Just thought I'd update you, you all know where I'm up to.

After receiving the mortgage deed from our solicitor, we reallised it had to be witnessed either by the solicitor (we're using an online one) or a HSBC bank official. Had to find an HSBC bank, and someone witnessed it. This was returned to our solicitor.

The final queries our solicitor made with our seller have been answered, and we're due to get the contract and house legal pack tomorrow. We plan to exchange and complete on the same day (to save time), the planned date being Thursday 20/3 - just in time for Easter.

Knowing FD as we do... I mentioned to my solicitor that they need 5 (working?) days to release the funds. He explained that the money can usually be obtained quicker than that. I think he'll only apply for the money on receipt of our signed contract. Which is ok, except that we haven't received the contract yet! due tomorrow.

Anyway, at least we're making progress and not being frustrated every day by FD anymore!

Hope your applications go ok, don't get too frustrated - there is an end in sight!

hi, i signed and returned the offer document at the weekend.

today when i got home from work there was a royal mail slip saying i had to collect a letter from the sorting office as it needed a signature.(is the legal pack sent recorded delivery???)

do f.d send anything recorded delivery at the final stage? (ive already had my wage slips etc returned to me - and as i stated before ive signed and returned the offer document.

    hope you can help...................al

I've only ever received anything through normal mail (which mildly disturbs me!).

The legal pack goes directly to the solicitor, he then asks you in to sign the mortgage deed (an agreement whereby the mortgage company get to repo your house if you default!), this has to be witnessed by your solicitor or a HSBC employee.
