Woo- that was quick! Thanks everyone. Whereabouts in the supermarket do they normally stock it? (often spend ages in supermarkets looking for stuff I know they must have but no idea where they keep it- and get blank looks from assistants when I ask. Except the time when I asked where they kept the lightbulbs and was told "Light bulbs are non-food." - really?! But I digress..)

Peanut butter works well, but use a little less than the amount of Tahini suggested. In tesco it's usually around the organic foods.
I like lots of lemon in my houmous. You can alos add roasted peppers coriander and other herbs."A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." Mark Twain0 -

I found that I didn't make hummus often enough to use the jars of tahina worth buying, but you can substitute 1 tsp toasted sesame oil instead. I have this around for use in stirfries, but it's ideal in hummus!2015 comp wins - £370.25
Recent wins: gym class, baby stuff
Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -
Or pulverise some sesame seeds as and when. That's all tahini is anyway.Living on Earth can be expensive, but it does include an annual free trip around the Sun.0
