I've signed up for this but what I want to know is, are the test envelopes that are delivered to you obvious to the postie, ie, would a postie reading MSE know that I'm mystery shopping his/her job?

I've no problem with my postie, especially as in the summer he wears short shorts :p and I always get my post (see where my priorities lie :D), but I wouldn't want to upset him, I just want ebayable stamps :D:D:D

When you join they ask you to give 2 letters that will always appear in the corner of the envelope for easy identification.

I guess he "might" be able to tell, but would have thought he'd be far too busy delivering to notice - also sure he wouldn't mind, after all its not just what gets delivered, its what you post out too.:)

...or at least I hope so!!

Found this on one of those sites which tells you all the best survey companies (http://www.whichsurveys.com if you're interested, but thats in another thread) and anyway I've signed up to this: https://rmselfrecruit.research-int.com/Questionnaire/qstIntroductionPrivate.aspx - can't see this particular one posted up anywhere on the forum unless it was a while back...?

Anyway, it looks like its basically a way to help Royal Mail check that their posties are actually delivering stuff - will be interesting for me as well, as I'm convinced my postie nicks all my freebies cos most of them don't show up! As far as I can tell, Royal Mail sends out tester mails to the address you provide and all you have to do is sign in to the website and tell them when said mail arrived, so they can see if the posties are doing their job. You also have to post out testers as well - they provide you with the necessary equipment for this at no cost (ie sending address, envelopes etc) You just have to fill out a short survey (above page links to it) so they can see if you're right for the panel I suppose.

On top of this, as the link says in point 2 - You will receive 18 first class stamps every month as a thank you for your involvement, as well as entry into daily prize draws.

A day or two after signing up I have received an email from them telling me they will be sending out my instruction pack shortly, and it all seems legit. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I can always do with stamps and it doesn't look like this will take up much time, also if it helps my rude, annoying postie get the sack I'm all for it :D sorry bit evil but he is rubbish.

If anyone is currently taking part in this, or has in the past, it'd be good to know what you thought, and for those like me who haven't seen it til now, maybe its something you'll be interested in.

thanks for that ,i don't mind seeing more of my postie he's just so edible.mmmmm

The only way I can tell my real mail from my test mail is my name has been switched from Miss A B Smith to Miss B A Smith. Apart from that it looks exactly the same.
  • Good Morning All

I'm real new to all this but hey what a great site this is :-)

I have a question about the Royal Mail thingy, Hope you guys will be kind enough to answer it for me?

Do I have to logon and register my big brown envelope (with next weeks delivery letters) as received when it comes?

    Thanks
    Jay x

Nope, just register the items that you send, and any that you subsequently receive. ;)

Yes the company is ok, worked for them for about 6 months for 18 1st class stamps a month, £10 won in daily draw, free diary and presentation pack. Best thing though is to refer your friends by just emailing postal research with their details (obviously with their consent) and if after 3 months your friends are still working with them you receive £25 for each friend refered.

If anyone would like to refer me then please pm me and let me know i would like to give this a go as lots of my stuff goes missing and someone else may aswel benefit if theres free £25 to be had
