i dont see what they would gain if it wasnt legit lol
theyve paid me 18 first class stamps for posting two letters which contain my id code....

if you dont want to do it then dont. i doubt this is dodgy though. the less people at royal mail know about this the better as far as theyre concerned as its like a "top secret mission" lol
whats the point in everybody knowing about it?? its meant to catch thieves out lol

  • No that's fine (obviously :D ) - I've just decided it's not for me and others may feel the same when they see this additional info.

I understand the requirements of a valid test, but shops (eg wilkos) actively promote secret shopper - it doesn't invalidate the test to know x customer might be one. I'm also concerned about telling them when I'm away.

Anyhooow - enough from me. As I said I'm not pursuing any further but wish you well in your secret missions!!! lol

Whilst Royal Mail will be aware that such exercises take place, what they are meaning is if we tell someone that works at Royal Mail that we are posting this and that, here and there, Royal Mail will make a special effort to perform better during the period concerned in the relevant Postcode areas.

Will a postman not think it suspicious anyway if you suddenly receive an extra 10 items of mail per week? Postmen read MSE as well, so they might know what it means!

i dont think we're looking at 10 items a week, more like 2 or 3. might be wrong though.

I am only going from what people say here. Both freebiehunter and macgyver spoke from up to 10 items a week.

I signed up for this a while ago, it is legit, but, after a while of only having to post a few letters a week, they suddenly started sending loads of them and I mean .. loads. I decided it wasn't worth the effort and rang them to resign, I am still receving odd bits of mail even now though

I have been doing this survey for a few months now and have not had any problems. So far the most I have had to post in one week is seven items but not all on different days so I can post a lot of them together if that makes sense. I generally have to post on two or three days each week.

If you are concerned about how legitimate the survey is have a look on the Royal Mail website. If you type "research international" into the search box it brings up some information and links to sign up.

    Hope this helps someone.
  • thanks again for this, recieved my stamps and letters last week, of to post my first letter tomorrow!
