    See my above post.

I am at a loss how anyone can see this as anything other than 'I have money to support myself, but i dont want to spend it. Give me your money instead so that i can use that to pay my bills'

However you flower it up, that's essentially what this is about, and it bloody well takes the mickey.

Well, The Boss says :- "This board is about helping people claim what they're legitimately entlited to under the law.

If anyone is suggesting defrauding the system then please report that post to abuse and it will be deleted.

However maximising the legitimate benefit entitlement should be applauded. That's what the system is for to help people within presubscribed limits

    Martin
    "

and the OP is following his advice.

if you have a grumble with anyone, maybe it is with the site owner who has encouraged many hundreds of thousands of people to claim every single penny that they are entitled to - often by manipulating the system and exploiting loopholes to do so.

Yeah i do have a problem with Martin's view on this. I think he is wrong to encourage someone to fleece the goverment, and in turn me, and you, and everyone else who gets a chunk taken out of their wages to put towards the benefits pot.

    Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's not a p*** poor performance.

so you have no problem with him saying claim your bank charges back or your credit cards, go after your mortgage company, claim your ppi etc, or finding loopholes to get free money doing clicks or playing bingo. All of these will have an effect on your every day joe bloggs including you and me, in one way or another, likewise when banks start charging you for using your card or wrighting a chq, paying your bills.
It makes no difference to the government, don't you think they know about this loophole, they use it and exploit it thats why they won't close it.
It is the government not martin that you should direct at, martin is very sensible and he is not *encouraging* fleecing the government as you put it.

I do have a problem with people claiming back bank charges, yes. When i start getting charged for using my account which i keep in good order i will be unamused, to put it politely, and it will be down to people not running theirs properly and me picking the tab up again.

Bookies/Bingo are companies, and by using loopholes you are reducing their profit margin, not costing me money. These are both whole new threads though.

I have directed my frustration at the goverment and i have linked you all the facility to email Downing Street above. I know i'm not going single-handedly change benefits policy, but writing it made me feel better.

    liney,

Can you (and others) who want to discuss the Benefits board please do it on the Forum going down the pan thread which is now on the Forum Policy & Rules Discussion board and keep this thread for answers relative to the OP's question. Thanks.

Yes it is a limited company just to confirm what was asked earlier.

I also have never reclaimed a bank charge/credit card charge as always spent within my limits/bank balance, I clear my credit card balance by DD monthly. I don't use bingo/gambling etc.
One day I might be more organised...........

Well I don't think it's anything to boast about that your partner has apparently not taken steps to reduce to the absolute minimum the amount of tax he pays through his company.

Perhaps if you posted some details in the small business section you can get some tips. If that translates to an extra £1k in your pocket, then great, go out there and spend it, you know how to spend your money better than the goverment does. There's no reason at all to pay more than you have to, it's just not what this site is about. The state is a big amorphous blob that blows billions of pounds per year. If you can minimise your contribution to it, you should do so. If we were talking about asking for money from charities, family, etc., the morality would be different. But as far as this site goes, big businesses, governments, etc. are there to be got back at.

OP why don't you use the contact information below & tell them what you propose & ask if it's 'within the rules'?

I will call them to clarify, as soon as I work out exactly what I am going to do.

I'm PAYE but this thread has got me thinking. Could I pay a large proportion of my salary in to my pension for one year and live off reduced salary plus savings and therefore qualify for max tax credits for the year so that net amount of salary forgone is much less than amount added to my pension?
    I think....
