problems switching - any ideas?
Trying to switch from southern electric to EON and received this message
"We are unable to continue your online sign up as we have identified that you have more than one supply number"
the only thing i can think was we had two meters with SE general & off set(the off set was removed a couple of weeks ago as we had the storage heaters removed)
do you think this is what the message means and any ideas what to do next?(don;t think SE are going to be helpful if i'm switching)
Thanks

Odd's on they are seeing both meters you will need to give them a call. The only problem doing this is if you were transferring through Quidco your transfer would not be tracked / completed on-line. Are you transferring via any of the other cash back or energy comparison sites that give cash back on transferring, then the same would apply.0

I've just had exactly the same response after going through Quidco, despite having the removed the storage heaters and corresponding meter just after we bought the house a couple of years back.
I'm going to give my current electricity supplier a ring tonight to see exactly what they have listed, and take it from there.Virtual sealed pot challenge #036 - 19/01/09-1/12/09 = £483.71/£750

Called Southern Electric, they said I only have one meter.
Called Eon, they said the problem was because I am going via a third-party website (Quidco).
Went directly to Eon, hit the same problem.
Ergo - the guy in Eon was speaking out of his bottom. He already offered to sign me up over the spot but without the £70 I'd get through Quidco, but surprisingly I declined.
Tomorrow I'm going to call them back, tell them the problem is with them and tell them that unless they can either (a) enable my web signup or (b) offer me the same bribe over the phone then I'm not interested. May work, may not - but until you try, you'll never know.
Will report back tomorrow.Virtual sealed pot challenge #036 - 19/01/09-1/12/09 = £483.71/£750

Most likely because your existing supplier hasn't cancelled the supply number relating to your old meter that was taken out it can take up to 6 weeks after the meter was removed for this to happen.
What I would say is if you move to E.on at the moment and what I say is correct you will find that they have to return your account to your old supplier until they have done there administration.0
