Stop the fraud!

After watching BBc's Panorama last week, I decided to set up a petition at the 10 Downing street website.

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/BAN-GDs/
Basically I was shocked at how a developer can give a buyer a gifted deposit which, in some cases, is added to the "actual" purchase price for the entry to the land registry.

If I gave somone a pound who then gave me back that pound and 45p for a mars bar, how much is the mars bar worth?

It would be cool if we could get a few signtures on there. At least try and get the government to look at the whole issue of fraud in the sector. Maybe then some of us first time buyers could afford a house!!

I got £6000 cash back off our seller this time, i demanded it near to completion due to the slight change in market conditions. Still showed up on registry at full sale price.

This fraud is wrong it is ramping prices up for normal decent people stopping them from buying. It must end now and prices dropped to true and affordable levels.

As I just said on another thread Mortgage Express has stopped lending on newbuild buy to lets due to this scam.

Not much chance of the govt doing anything about it when their rankers like Mr Meacher take advantage of this and similar loopholes. Turkeys don't vote for Christmas!

Done my sig bit for you, totally agree - but business seems to be on everyone's agenda and money talks, unfortunately, is anything really going to change? Our small action may show concern and awareness but will our policy makers really sit up and take notice?

    Lets hope so
