Hello all,

I bought a Fiat Punto a year ago from Evans Halshaw and the time has come for my annual service. They quoted me £248!:eek:

Does anyone know where I could get a cheaper option that doesn't invalidate my warranty?

I've got to say avoid these guys, maybe I was unlucky but I was advised to change the gearbox on my Ka when the bonnet prop was banging against the bonnet. They didn't even notice during the 2 hours of test driving it to figure out the problem that the top mounts were knackered.

The AA who send people to them, one of their guys also advised against using them.

I certainly won't be sending a car of mine back to them.

They're franchised so like any garage, it's going to depend on the individual place.

There are several Fiat specialists around the UK who may charge a bit more than the local mechanic but will help maintain a dealer/specialist service history. Not sure where you are based, but I used to use a Fiat specialist called Powerfiat in Essex. Not only were they reasonable priced but their Fiat knowledge and expertise is second to none.

I've already posted an article on this. We went to France for our holiday last year, and I took my Peugeot 407 in for its 36,000 mile service to a main dealer. In this country, I was quoted nearly £300. In France for full service and a carwash £106.
