I've just joined the MSE Compers facebook group - thanks for setting it up (now my other facebook friends know my guilty secret of being a comping addict!).

Ok all I NEED your advice !!!!!!!
Im running a race night and have just been given a wii as a prize:eek:
I think Ill sell loads of raffle tickets with that as first prize but the dragon-in-law thinks we should auction it off seperatley.
So, the race night is this saturday and it hasn't been advertised that there will be an auction and I think its too short notice to do it now.
PLEASE fellow compers think about it over a few sweet sherrys in the compers inn and let me know your opinions.

how many people are you expecting - ie, which way will get the most money? are the people attending goingto be the sort that would want a Wii?

There are about 150 people coming. Quite a few lads 20-30 age and families with kids. I think that people will buy more raffle tickets with it as a prize.

in that case I think that a raffle would be a better idea, some people wouldnt be as keen on bidding - not as many people would participate, I know for sure I wouldnt bid but would be quite happy at buying raffle tickets:D

Just an idea, but if you have 2 different colours of raffle tickets to sell, some people may want some of each colour so you could sell more! Hth.
